Yinxuan Wang

Hi! I am a PhD candidate at the Wilf Family Department of Politics at New York University.

My research centers on quantitative political methodology, with a focus on computational and statistical methods for analyzing text, images, and other forms of unstructured data. I develop tools for measuring political quantities that are only indirectly observed and for drawing valid inferences from computationally generated measures. In a related substantive agenda, I study elite political behavior in authoritarian contexts, across historical and contemporary settings.

Before joining NYU, I earned an M.A. in International Relations from Johns Hopkins SAIS, as well as a B.S. in Applied and Computational Mathematics and a B.A. in International Relations and the Global Economy from the University of Southern California.
